Kelly Jackson Smith
Kelly Jackson Smith began her private legal practice in 2013 after serving more than six years as an Assistant District Attorney General. During her time with the District Attorney General’s Office she served as a specialized DUI and Drug Prosecutor. Kelly Jackson Smith has extensive jury trial and courtroom experience.
Kelly Jackson Smith has received specialized training from the Governor’s Highway Safety Office (GHSO), the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation (TBI), the National District Attorneys Association (NDAA), the Tennessee Highway Patrol (THP), and the Tennessee District Attorney General’s Conference (TNDAGC).
While serving as an Assistant District Attorney General, Kelly Jackson Smith received state-wide recognition when in one year of her practice took more cases to jury trial than any other practicing District Attorney General in the State of Tennessee.
Kelly Jackson Smith was born in Dickson, Tennessee. She attended college at Trinity University in San Antonio, Texas. After college, she worked for a year with a Civil Law firm in Nashville, Tennessee before attending the Cumberland School of Law in Birmingham, Alabama. While attending the Cumberland School of Law, Kelly Jackson Smith clerked for a Court of Criminal Appeals Judge, worked for the 23rd Judicial District Attorney Generals Office and for Legal Services Alabama.
